Dr Charleston is a graduate of the University of Auckland School of Medicine.

She is dual-trained in general Geriatric Medicine and Neurology, working in both capacities at Auckland City Hospital.

She has particular interests in neurological disorders affecting the elderly (dementia, gait disorders, Parkinson’s disease and related disorders, cerebrovascular disease etc.) and in general geriatric medicine

She manages the regional Motor Neurone Disease service and has an interest in neurological palliative medicine.
