Wait Times
Without ACC, 3-6 months
With ACC, 6-8 months from the date the purchase order number is received.
We do not offer acute services. Refer to the public system for emergencies.

For ACC Nerve Conduction Studies and EMGS:Send referrals to us directly
Required: ACC45 number
For all other ACC appointments:These referrals must be made through the patient’s ACC Case Manager.
Required: An ACC purchase order number

Specialist Consultation: MSDA1
Complex case: MSDA2
Send a referral letter to your patient’s ACC Case Manager
The ACC Case Manager will send us the files
The consultant will review the files and either agree to see the patient, or suggest alternative arrangements.
Auckland Medical Specialists will then liaise with ACC to make the appointment
ACC Head Injuries
If the patient has had a head injury within the past 12 months, they are eligible to be seen at a Concussion Clinic. Arrange this with ACC
Medical Single Discipline Assessment (MSDA).MSDAs are initiated by ACC
Only a limited number of consultants at Auckland Medical Specialists will see ACC patients for an MSDA

Booking Process
You need a referral letter from a doctor to see one of our specialists.
We will contact you to let you know we have received your referral.
Once we have appointments available, we will contact you again to book in.
Wait times
Without ACC, 3-6 months
With ACC, wait times are 6-8 months from the date the purchase order number is received.
Wait times are approximate. Once you are booked in, we can contact you if an earlier appointment becomes available.

Before:
Your doctor will write you a referral letter, then you can book an appointment.
You will receive an email confirmation 1 week before your appointment
Make arrangements with your insurance or ACC if you won’t be paying on the day.
On the day:
Arrive 10 minutes early.
Your specialist will come to meet you, and invite you into a consultation room.
Pay at reception afterwards.
After:
Your specialist will write a letter (sent to you and your doctor), summarising your appointment and what the next steps will be.

Each specialist has different fees.
Pay on the day, after your appointment.
If you're insured with Southern Cross or NIB and have pre-approval, we're able to bill your insurance provider directly.
If you are with any other insurance company, you will need to pay on the day.

Directions & Parking:
Take the Market Rd exit, if traveling north on the motorway.
Take the Gillies Ave exit, if travelling south on the motorway.
Some on-site parking is available, at the front of our building.
On-street parking between 9am-4pm on Gillies Ave and surrounding streets.
Accessibility
There is a disabled car-park at the front, and wheel-chair access at the back of the building.
There are no emergency medical services on-site (other than an AED defibrillator).
There is no translator on-site.
