Dr Peter Bergin

Dr Bergin started training in neurology in Wellington, and then spent 5 years in London working at the Royal Free Hospital and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in Queen Square.
While there, he completed an MD on the effects of epilepsy on memory. Dr Bergin returned to Auckland in the mid 1990s and has been working at Auckland City Hospital since then, and in private since the early 2000s.
He currently oversees the epilepsy surgery programme at Auckland City Hospital. He is leading a clinical research programme into epilepsy (www.epinet.co.nz) . While he has a special interest in epilepsy, he sees patients with a wide range of neurological problems.
